The Arts in Community Reslience Award was proposed by Commissioner Denson to be included in the Athens-Clarke County Resiliency Package, a local package of policies to assist residents with finances and resources in the early months of the Covid-19 pandemic. This Athens Cultural Affairs Commission program awarded 50 different Athens artists $2,000 to create public art and supported our arts community during the pandemic. The program just completed on December 31, 2021. Commissioner Denson will welcome representatives from the Athens Cultural Affairs Commission and also a handful of the artists who received one of the Arts in Community Resilience Awards.
