Proposed ACC Non-Discrimination Ordinance coming before Commission

ACC considering a proposed non-discrimination ordinance

It is important for the Unified Government to ensure that all persons within Athens-Clarke County have equal access to employment, housing, and public accommodations. The Mayor & Commission will consider adopting a Non-Discrimination Ordinance at the August 3 voting session (it will be discussed at the July 20 Agenda-setting meeting) to make these forms of discrimination illegal.

Clarke County Sheriff’s Dept. Should Not Honor ICE Detainers

Athens-Clarke Scores a 33/100 on HRC’s 2017 Municipal Equality Index

The Human Rights Campaign has released their 2017 Municipal Equality Index scores. Athens-Clarke County scored only 33 points out of 100. The national average is 57.
